The Pleasantville Trojan Softball team took home the Coal Miners Classic Championship on Saturday in Melcher with wins over Seymour 16-6 and shutting out Southeast Warren.

In game one Avari Heinz-Penz was 3-4 with four runs scored and Hannah Hatch also picked up three wins, Bailey Oliva got the win going three innings and Abby DeJoode finishing the game. Facing the Warhawks in the championship game, Corinne Thomas and Avari Heinz-Penz each went 1-2 and Paige Busick and Sydnee McKinney each added pinch hit singles as the whole roster would make an appearance at the dish. Abby DeJoode went the distance throwing a one hitter. DeJoode, Hannah Gordon, Heinz-Penz and Andie Sowers were all selected to the All-Tournament Team. The Trojans have now won 12 of 14 to bring their record to 14-9 and will next play on Tuesday at Central Decatur.
