Two Central College sophomores were chosen to receive Capital One Academic All-District track honors, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Kate Patton and Mark Fairley represent the Dutch on the All-District 8 women’s and men’s team, respectively. A grade point average of at least 3.30 and starter or key-reserve status is required to be eligible for consideration. Patton majors in exercise science and holds a 3.96 GPA. She earned all-American status in her freshman year at the 2015 national indoor meet, and just last week at the 2016 outdoor meet, and has been a part of four conference champion relay teams, including the 4 x 100, 200, and 400 meter races. Fairley also majors in exercise science and carries a 3.87 GPA with him. He holds the school record in the steeplechase, and is a four-time all-Iowa Conference athlete, also participating in cross country.
