Pella Christian Grade School’s campus has undergone noticeable changes as the district gears up for an expansion and renovation.

Head of Schools David Te Grotenhuis tells KNIA/KRLS News temporary classrooms are being installed this week to accommodate enrollment growth over the past decade.

“We had our modulars come in–portable classrooms, so they come in two halves–one half came on Tuesday, one half came on Wednesday,” he says.

Installation continued today and teachers will move in over the summer. Te Grotenhuis says fundraising continues for the $13.5 million project, with the Vermeer Charitable Organization committing to a fund match program.

The temporary classrooms will be in place for two years, and will be ready for use this fall.
