With any young high school team with not a lot of varsity experience, any veteran player that a coach can throw out there is a huge bonus.

Having a veteran player who is having a lot of success is even bigger, and that is what senior pitcher Austin Brown is currently bringing to the PCM baseball team. On the mound so far this season, Brown is 3-0 with 2 .58 ERA and 19k’s, and his damage has not all been done on the field, at the plate Brown is batting .263 with Five RBI’s and two doubles. Coach Shawn Hudnut told KNIA/KRLS Sport s that having a hard worker like Brown on the team helps set an example for the younger guys on the squad. The Mustangs ended a losing streak on Wednesday against Nevada getting their bats working again, and will stay home to play Gilbert tonight.
