Will Prather was honored for his lifelong contributions to Knoxville yesterday.

Mayor Brian Hatch proclaimed today as the official day to honor Will Prather. Six speakers with organizations impacted by his life lived in service to Knoxville shared his accomplishments. The Red Rock Lake Association, the Knoxville Hospital Board, Knoxville’s Summit Realty, Marion County History Buffs, Knoxville Rotary, the Marion County Conservation Board, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and local farmers all shared how their lives and their organizations had been guided by the visionary wisdom of Prather. Ron Huelse and Matt Kissinger, who coordinated the event said people like Prather are necessary to make communities great. Prather says Knoxville is his home and expressed his thanks to everyone involved. He has lived in Knoxville since 1953.
