A quartet of Central men’s track and field athletes were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team. Three sophomores and a senior were honored for the Dutch; Jaemin Powell, who also won the award back in 2014, Mark Fairley, Ryan Kruse, and Hunter Howe all flexed their athletic and academic muscles for the Central men’s track and field team. To receive the honor, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 GPA and compete in the NCAA Division III indoor or outdoor championship, or be ranked in the top 35 in the nation for an individual event. All four had at least a 3.40 grade point average at the end of the 2015-16 school year. Central’s men’s track and field team has had 28 athletes earn this prestigious honor a total of 37 times.
