For an unprecedented 16th straight year, the Central College volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. Receiving the honor means the team must have at least a cumulative 3.30 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The 16 straight awards is the most out of any program in Division III volleyball, and it’s the 17th time overall Central has won the award. Nine Dutch netters were recognized on the All-Academic team in the Iowa Conference, which requires at least a 3.50 GPA; Nicole Ewoldt, Megan Bruene, Olivia Cotton, Jenna Dille, Kylie Gerstein, Gretchen Kistenmacher, Emily McDonald, and Josie Youel all earned the conference honor, as did Hannah Laflin. A total of 140 D3 colleges were recognized with the team award, the same as in 2015.
