Another conference slate done and another league championship secured, the Pella High baseball team now turns their attention to the final five games on their schedule as they begin to wind down and prepare for the postseason. The No. 5-ranked Little Dutch hold a 23 – 8 record and will play their final two home games of the regular season tonight and tomorrow versus PCM and Ballard, respectively. With a No. 1 seed in the district tournament in hand and not much else left to play for, Coach Jesse Jablonski decided to rest his two aces on the mound, Grant Judkins and Tyler Hillman, versus Oskaloosa last Friday. Coach Jablonski says each player will have a very short string attached to them for this quintet of games and he’ll be erring on side of caution so the team can be as healthy as possible for the playoffs. Tonight’s match-up with PCM is a JV/Varsity doubleheader, starting with the JV game at 5:30 PM and the varsity team to follow at around 7:30.
