Water was rushing through the yards of Pella residents near Washington Street after more than two inches of rain fell in the early afternoon Tuesday, July 19th.
A Flash Flood Warning was in effect in Marion County and the surrounding area for storms that produced rainfall rates of over an inch and a half per hour.
Residents living near the reconstruction project between East 1st and Hazel told KNIA/KRLS News they’ve experienced flooding four times as rain has passed through. They say the city is attempting to help mitigate the impact of flooding due in part to sewer work ongoing through the fall.
