The Iowa Department of Transportation changed signage at the junction of Highways 5 and 92 today, omitting mention of Knoxville and Lake Red Rock on the new signage.
The photo above is the new signage, northbound on Hwy 5, on the south side of Hwy 92, showing Oskaloosa and Indianola as the only two destination options.


The previous signage had Knoxville and Lake Red Rock positioned above Indianola and Oskaloosa, as may be seen from the images above captured from Google Earth. KNIA/KRLS News has contacted the DOT for an explanation, and staff are researching why the change was made. We will provide more information as soon as it becomes official.
