A baseball team from Knoxville won an 11U USSSA State Tournament over the weekend. The Knoxville Baseball Panthers 11U team joined 34 other teams in Cedar Rapids this weekend and advanced to the championship round seeded 15th out of 16 teams. They beat the number two seed called the All Blacks 10-1. Beau Leisure went 2/3 at the plate with two RBI and picked up the win on the mound striking out eight. Knoxville then beat the BBX Cubs in the quarterfinals 5-4. Again the pitcher helped his own cause with Luke Spaur going 2/3 with an RBI and getting the win on the mound. Knoxville’s next victim in the semi-finals was the O-Town Heat in an 11-6 victory. This time Carson Uitermarkt got the win with Trenten Kingery going 2/3 at the plate. The rest of the tournament was rained out and by rule the championship was awarded to the highest seeded team remaining, which was Knoxville
