The Knoxville Music Boosters are raising money to purchase new band uniforms.
The effort to purchase new uniforms has already raised approximately $15,000. The uniforms will cost about $56,000 dollars to replace. Liz Adrian with Music Boosters says two events will be held in August. August 5 Band Members will be at Peace Tree Brewing serving root beer from 11-2 p.m. and on August 27 they will hold a fundraising kick-off with a carwash at Motor Inn. The carwash will also feature lunch and inflatables from Knoxville Morning Kiwanis. The kick-off will begin a donation drive which Adrian says members of the community called for after being surveyed about how they would like to give. Adrian says no amount of money is too small as some pieces of uniforms cost only a few dollars.
