The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday.
The Board appointed representatives to several key positions in preparation for the new school year. They also considered suggestions for the Iowa Association of School Boards to take to the Legislature next session. Proposals the board wanted to highlight included the continuance of the State Penny Sales Tax, increased mental health funding and a return to the policy of 3-year school board terms. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says shorter terms would be a great thing for state school districts, as it is easier to find people to serve. School begins on September 1 this year.
