Activities continue this weekend at Lake Red Rock with programs centered around bugs.
From Park Ranger Tracy Spry:
Sat., July 23 – Creepy Crawly Bug Contest – 10:00 a.m. – Visitor Center
Bring in the hairiest, scariest, leggiest, creepiest bug you can find and you just might win a prize! Bug entries will be judged at 11:00 a.m. Live entries are welcome and preferred!
Sat., July 23 – Pollinators on Parade – 1:00 p.m. – South Tailwater
Take a hike through a prairie and search for butterflies, bees and other pollinators. Without them, we wouldn’t have enough to eat!
Sat., July 23 – Meet Bobber, the Water Safety Dog! – 2:00 p.m. – North Overlook Beach
Bobber is a fun loving dog that likes to meet new people and help them learn how to be safe around the water. Come meet him and pick up some great safety tips!
Thurs., July 28 – A Little Walk – 10:00 a.m. – Playscape
Nature is full of great adventures and new things to see, hear, smell, and touch! Young children and their families can join us for short “little walks” to investigate the world. Each walk will have a different theme, and may include a story, song, craft or other activities!
