The Eagles baseball team is coming off of a long layoff as they begin their postseason.
Pella Christian at 17-12 is facing 16-16 Centerville in Albia for game one of the Class 2A District 11 semifinals this evening.
It’s been 12 days since Pella Christian has played competitive baseball, but Head Coach Nathan Johnson is hopeful the recovery time will do his players good.
The Big Red of Centerville beat South Central Conference foe Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Saturday 5-3 to advance. They are scoring and giving up nearly seven runs per game–Pella Christian is giving up just over four.
First pitch is at 5 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS, with pregame starting at 4:45.
