Winning their ninth game in a row, the Pleasantville Baseball Team took down conference rival I-35 last night 9-0.
Getting back on the mound after battling injuries that prevented him from getting as much pitching time in earlier in the season, Zeb Adreon picked up the win. The Trojans are now 21-8, and play North Mahaska tonight.
The surging Trojan Softball Team ran into the #6 ranked team in class 2A I-35 and fell behind 4-0 but mounted a comeback that came up just short in the seventh inning to fall 4-3. Bailey Oliva started in the circle with Abby DeJoode coming in for relief to pace the pitching staff. In the comeback seventh, Avari Heinz-Penz drove in Corinne Thomas and then DeJoode mashed a two run shot to put the Trojans within one but they couldn’t put any more runs across. The Trojans fall to 15-10 and round out their regular season tonight against Nodaway Valley in Greenfield.
