Pleasantville Trojan Baseball is just one game away from heading back to the state tournament after a 5-4 comeback victory over Centerville Saturday night in the District Final in Albia.
The Trojans were down early 3-1, but a three run third and then pushing a run across in a tie game in the fifth inning secured the win for Pleasantville. Senior Hurler Nate Sowers came in to pitch in relief of Colton Major after the third inning and shut down the Big Reds throwing four no hit innings striking out five to get the win. The Trojans were led offensively by a pair of Zeb Adreon doubles, Brock Busick going 1-2 at the dish, and two Quinton Berglund sacrifice flies. The Trojans are now headed to their second substate final in a row, and there they will face their biggest test all season, #5 ranked Van Meter. The Trojans are now 27-9, and first pitch against Van Meter is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday in Indianola.
