After dispatching South Central Conference team Davis County on Saturday night 6-2, the Pleasantville Trojan Baseball team is now looking ahead to the next South Central Conference team Albia tonight in the second round of district play.
The Trojans boast a 25-9 record coming into the game, but are equally matched against the tough Blue Demons who have a similar 24-8 record in a tougher conference. The Trojans have plenty of pitching options available to them, as both seniors Nate Sowers and Zeb Adreon have not thrown more than 40 innings this season, and sophomore Kyle Amendt has thrown only 44. Albia on the other hand has relied mainly on starter Tyler Maddison who has pitched 77 innings, but will be well rested as Albia has not played since last Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled to be thrown at seven tonight following the Pella Christian vs Centerville game.
