One year later, and up a class in competition, the Pleasantville Trojan Baseball Team is back in the State Tournament and ready to make a run back to the Championship Game starting with Beckman Catholic tonight.
After a shutout of the number five ranked team Van Meter in the substate game the Trojans will have plenty of confidence going into the game, but facing a team with the tradition of a team like the Blazers will force the Trojans to once again put forth their best effort if they want to advance. The Pleasantville pitching staff has been on point so far this postseason, giving up a total of just seven runs through four games, with four of those runs coming from Centerville in the district final. Likely starter for the Trojans Zeb Adreon has been nearly unhittable, in his two starts against favored opponents Albia and Van Meter, they have picked up just four hits and one earned run through 13 1/3 innings. Pleasantville Head Coach Sheldon Card tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that playing in the State Tournament brings different challenges, not only because of the tough opponents but because of the venue as well. The game is scheduled to start at 5pm on Monday night. The game will be broadcast live on AM1320 and FM95.3 KNIA with pregame starting at 4:45pm.
