The Pleasantville Trojans Softball Team is hosting their first round regional matchup against Des Moines Christian tonight to begin their 2016 postseason journey.
The red hot Trojans won 13 of their last 17 games to end the season, averaging over seven runs per game through that time period while getting excellent performances in the pitching circle from senior hurler Bailey Oliva and freshman Abby DeJoode. The Trojans offense, which has seven regulars hitting over .300, will look to take advantage of a lack of depth for the young Des Moines Christian pitching staff which has a team earned run average of 5.87. Pleasantville Head Coach Robert Friday told KNIA/KRLS Sports that this group of girls has been a fun team to coach and watch, and he feels that during this postseason run the girls know what they need to do to win so he will just let them go out there and play. The game will start at 7pm in Pleasantville, and you can find a full recap of the game tomorrow morning on KNIAKRLS.com.
