If you haven’t been following the Pleasantville Softball Team since its 2-7 start, you are going to be surprised with the end result of their regular season.
Since their 11th game of the season, the Trojans have gone 13-4 since then and have ridden an offense that has been on another level since that point. The Trojans are averaging seven runs per game during the streak, and holding opponents to just over two runs per game. Getting Bailey Oliva back in the pitching circle returning from injury, as well as the development of freshman hurler Abby DeJoode has also contributed to the Trojans success. Pleasantville Head Coach Robert Friday tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the team is simply having fun, and that helps them win games. He went on to say that a pair of late season losses won’t affect the teams momentum come postseason time this week. The Trojans will host Des Moines Christian on Wednesday in the first round of regional action.
