The Twin Cedars Baseball Squad knew it would be a tougher than usual season this summer due to the fact of so much inexperience coming back from two seasons of being one of the favorites to make the state tournament. One of the Sabers struggles this year was at the plate. They had a good enough on base percentage at .421 good for fourth in the Bluegrass Conference, but Coach Brian Moore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports once they got on base either by walk or bunt, they were unable to get around. The Sabers hit .259 as a team lead by Trace Embray’s .506 while Marty Beary came in with a 358 average. However after Beary no Sabers hit better than .280 for the season. The Sabers ended the season at 13-12 and lost in the class 1A district quarterfinals.
