Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey says now that recovery is strong after last year’s bird flu crisis, other issues have moved to the forefront in the election year.
Northey tells KNIA/KRLS News significant progress continues when it comes to water quality initiatives in the state.
He says farmers are continuing to make strides in practices aiming to reduce negative outputs into the water.
Prior to this week’s Ag in the City, Northey was last in Pella in 2015 at the annual Van Zante Creek Watershed meeting.
