Many Central College football fans are counting down the days between now and kickoff to the 2016 season. That season opener will take place all the way in Spokane, Washington on September 3 against Whitworth University. It’s the first road game Central has flown to since October of 1986, when the Dutch took on Trinity in San Antonio and emerged victorious, 56 – 14. The college has put together an exclusive “weekend getaway” package for those that want to travel to see the Dutch begin their 2016 campaign. Coinciding with Labor Day weekend, the September 1 – 4 excursion includes a ticket to the game, 18 holes of golf at the Coeur’d Alene Golf Course, home of the famous floating green, and a three night’s stay at the four-star Davenport Hotel in the heart of Spokane’s shopping district. All ground transportation in Washington is taken care of; however, fans are on their own for airfare. It’s just $2,500 per person for this one-of-a-kind opportunity, or $2,750 for a couple. Portions of each package are given back to the Central College Football Excellence Fund. If you’d like more information or would like to reserve your spot, call Kathy Cashen Thompson at the alumni office at 800-447-0287.
