One season ago the Pleasantville Trojan Baseball Team saw a State Championship within their sights and blew away North Linn 6-3 in the State Semifinal game to get there. This year the same situation has been brought to their doorstep and it is now Kuemper Catholic that stands in the way of the Trojans completing their goal of getting back to where they were one year ago.
The Knights have a potent offense, Kuemper has five different players batting over .500, and work well hitting balls in the gaps and moving on the basepaths, and their pitching staff is deep enough to throw multiple arms out. The Trojans will follow the same formula as any successful baseball team, get an early lead and rely on their pitching and defense to give them advantages. The game tonight will be broadcast live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA with Andrew Swadner and Marcus Johnson on the call. Pregame will start at 7:15 and first pitch is scheduled for 7:30.
