As Pella Christian’s fall sports teams finish preparations for their first action of the season, they do so under new leadership.
Dan Branderhorst, a 2001 PC alum, has taken over as Activities Director for Brad Engbers. Engbers is now the school’s Guidance Counselor, filling a void left when Dan Van Kooten was promoted to Principal.
Branderhorst started July 1st, and oversaw the end of the baseball and softball seasons, but he’s excited to get his first full year underway.
“I think that we have fantastic teams and fantastic athletes right now. I feel like it’s a really good year to be stepping in to this position. We want to strive for excellence here at Pella Christian High School. We’re hoping to win conference championships. We’re hoping to win state championships. That would be a fun way to start it off this fall.”
Like many other area school’s, Branderhorst’s duties aren’t just limited to what takes place on a field or on a court.
As Activities Director, and not Athletic Director, he also oversees music and theater events, in addition to Pella Christian’s sports programs.
