Larry Briggs of Knoxville, who was detained under suspicion of a federal firearms violation Friday, has been formally charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Briggs was taken into custody in a joint operation between Marion County law enforcement and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. KNIA/KRLS News observed an assault rifle being removed from Briggs’ apartment at the time of arrest. Briggs has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm.
