While depth many be of no concern to the Pella Christian Boys Cross Country team, the Eagles’ girls will have to work to do to place high in varsity action this season.
Head Coach Jocelyn Meinders says the girls are down in numbers this year, which happens semi-frequently at smaller schools.
However, she’s still excited at what her senior captains Chloe Dembski and Andrea Carballo can do with the young talent coming up the ranks.
“Chloe has had a rough career of cross country, she’s had some nasty injuries just that have really plagued her, so hopefully she can go out and have a really successful season — she’s very talented if we can keep her healthy.”
“Andrea had a great season last year, and she’s really done a good job just all three years all three years she’s been in cross country. She’s such a sweet girl too and works hard, has a great attitude, and really pulls everyone along with her.”
Pella Christian begins cross country competition at the Central College Invite on September 3rd.
