If you’ve driven by Central’s P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium this summer, you’ve seen tremendous progress taking place outside on the front entrance to the facility.
The old lower-level entrance to the building is being removed to make way for a new lobby, which is the work noticeable as you look on from the corner of Independence and West 5th.
Assistant Athletic Director Tim Wilkinson says that there’s also a lot of work being done that the public can’t see.
“They’re inside doing the plumbing and pouring the concrete and working on mechanicals up top. They’re doing a great job, and making a lot of progress, and it’s exciting seeing it come together.”
The P.H. Kuyper Gym Expansion will feature new lobbies, an All-American Corridor, a new Athletics Hall of Honor, new varsity locker rooms and a new wrestling room.
You can follow the construction with a time lapse video at Forever.Central.edu.
