A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Marion County and the southern half of the KNIA/KRLS Listening Area tonight.
The advisory starting at 7 p.m. and continuing through 7 a.m. Thursday is in response to potentially heavy rainfall expected throughout much of southern Iowa.
According to the National Weather Service, rainfall rates between one to two inches of rain per hour are possible. Accumulations of one to three inches of precipitation are in the forecast, with higher amounts expected closer to the Iowa-Missouri border.
