Knoxville schools go into session September 1. Knoxville Activities Director Ryan Rump says participation in extracurriculars is important for well-rounded education.
Rump says at a smaller school like Knoxville students have greater opportunity to try a range of sports and activities. Rump says that he prefers to see students move away from specialization and get a broader extracurricular education. He played several sports and participated in music while in school.
