Officers and staff from the Knoxville Police Department will serve ice cream and brownies to the community soon.
The department’s “Ice Cream with a Cop” is a way of thanking the community for all the support they receive, according to Lieutenant Aaron Fuller. Fuller says financial contributions from the community have led to safer and more effective policing by adding body cameras, protective gloves for searches and other unbudgeted items. During Knoxville Nationals the department received so much food that they couldn’t fit it in their kitchen. In response to that support, “Ice Cream with a Cop” will take place Sunday, September 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Third Street next to the police station. All are welcome to attend.
