A Knoxville woman was arrested on two felony charges Thursday.
According to court records, a Hy-Vee employee informed the Knoxville Police Department that 24 bad checks had been written in the Knoxville Store from early June into mid-July. The checks totaled over $1100. The checks were in the name of Jessica Lynn Smith. Officers recalled Smith had recently been arrested for passing bad checks at Fareway. Smith was called and admitted to knowingly writing the checks in an empty bank account. She was arrested and charged with ongoing criminal conduct and theft in the second degree, a class D felony.
