Earlier this week, we reported that Nick Mulder has been promoted to the role of Defensive Coordinator for the Central College football team.
Mulder, a Pella native and 2007 Central graduate, replaces the retired Don DeWaard at the helm of the Dutch D. There are also two new coaches joining the Central football staff this fall – Jason Anderson and Spencer Gritsch.
Anderson, a 2001 Central grad, has spent the last 15 years on high school sidelines. He spent nine years at Lynville-Sully and the last six at Pella, including their back-to-back state championship seasons. He’ll work with the Dutch defensive line.
On the offensive side of the ball, Central welcomes the freshly graduated 2016 alum Gritsch. He’ll be the Dutch running backs coach, a group that includes his younger brother Kyle, a junior S-Back.
Gritsch was a four-year member of the Central baseball team, and his duties on campus also include being an assistant for skipper Matt Schirm.
