Keeping up a tradition going back decades, the style of Pleasantville Trojan Football this season is to be more physical than the other team and have no problem grinding their way to victory.
In their opening game last Friday traveling to the Rockets of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, the Trojans were not flashy on offense gaining 233 yards on the ground to the tune of 4.3 yards per carry and one touchdown pass. A bigger statement however may have been carrying on the defensive intensity from last season where the Trojans allowed only two touchdowns the first seven weeks of the season; the Trojans gave up only 138 yards of total offense. With their first test of the season passed, the Trojans will play their final non district game against a team up one class in 2A, Centerville. The Big Reds fell in their opening game of the season to Central Decatur 40-18.
