Facing a tough slate of competition to open up their 2016 season, the PCM Mustang Volleyball team would drop their first three games in a tournament at DCG, but rebound in game four to pick up their first victory of the season.
Starting off against the host Fillies, the Mustangs would fall 21-11 and 21-8 respectively, then to Des Moines Roosevelt 21-12 and 21-9, then coming close against Algona 21-12 and 21-14. The Lady Mustangs would pick themselves up in game four after the rough start with a demolishing of Nodaway Valley 21-3 and 21-19 to claim the victory. Head Coach Krystal Ehn told KNIA/KRLS Sports that some of the standout performances included the setting from Kayla Jennings, the hitting of Katie Vandewall, and a mixture of both from Maddie Samson. The Mustangs are now 1-3 to start the season, and will next play in a tournament at Bondurant-Farrar on Saturday.
