During the beginning of the fall sports season you can usually find PCM Head Football Coach Greg Bonnett and his staff running around the practice field coaching, teaching, and mentoring their players.
The end of summer hot days when football camp starts and the beginning of first official team practice gets going at PCM, it’s a fun time of year for the coaches of the Mustangs. A lot of condition drills and teaching of plays and techniques to the younger players is usually what the first few weeks of practice are meant for. But for coach Bonnett and his staff, they know that all work and no play can make for a dull practice and a dull team. So what is the answer for this 2016 Mustang football team to keep things fresh and for the coaches to teach without being all hands on? How about a trip to the moon? Coach Bonnett and his staff recently took a break from all those conditioning and tackling drills to build team camaraderie and unity by having his coaching staff cut practice short and cook up some burgers for his team as they all sat down in the nice air conditioned library to watch the movie Apollo 13. The lesson that every man has a role is something the Mustangs hope to build off for the upcoming 2016 season. The first chance for the Mustangs to see just how close this team is and to see if they took the Apollo 13 lessons to heart will be August 26th at home against Pella Christian.
