The fall sports season is just around the corner and area football teams are less than two weeks’ till kick off.
Friday August 26th kicks off the high school football season and for the Pleasantville Trojans that’s no different. A team a year ago that won a state playoff game before eventually losing to the class A state champions, Coach Gabe Bakker’s squad is back at practice looking to build off of last year’s success. The Trojans come into the 2016 season needing to find replacements for most of their skill positions on offense. Losing your starting quarterback, running back, two wide receivers and a tight end to graduation normally means taking a step back on offense, but Coach Bakker is confident that his returning players will be able step up to help build this team moving forward. The first test for the Trojans and their rebuilt offense will come on the road at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on August 26th.
