A Central College alum was fatally shot in northwest Iowa.
The Sac County Sheriff’s office said at 11:38 a.m. Sunday a 24 year-old woman was driving north of the intersection of Highway 175 and Highway 71, east of Lake View, when a 9 mm handgun handled by a male passenger reportedly discharged accidentally.
The bullet struck Megan Sloss. She was taken to Loring Hospital in Sac City, and later airlifted to a Des Moines hospital where she died of her injuries.
Sloss was a member of the Central College Dance Team, and graduated in 2014.
