Central College is hosting a viewing party and discussion tonight for the first presidential debate.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in Maytag Student Center, with introduction led by political experts Andrew Green, professor of political science, and Randy Renstrom, assistant professor of psychology.
In recent elections, Central College students have voted at higher rates than students at peer institutions — and three-quarters of Central students vote absentee. During this year’s caucus season, students also had opportunities to see Donald Trump, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Martin O’Malley and other candidates on campus.
Students will also gather for debate viewings Oct. 4, 9 and 19 — and to watch the election returns Nov. 8.
