Central’s volleyball team dropped a hard-fought five-set battle against new Iowa Conference foe Nebraska Wesleyan last night at the Kuyper Athletic Complex.
The Dutch dropped the first two sets 25-15, 26-24 before rallying back to win the next two 25-22, 25-20. The Prairie Wolves then won the decisive fifth set 15-11.
Kylie Gerstein led Central with 14 kills while Melissa Miller added 13 and Jenna Dille tallied 12. Maddison Egger dished out 27 assists, Chapel Carter had 22, Nicole Ewoldt dug out 42 balls and Dille had 6 blocks.
The Dutch are 4-7 on the season, 1-1 in the Iowa Conference and travel to Lisle, Illinois for four matches this Friday and Saturday.
