A four game winning streak for the Central College men’s soccer team is over. The Dutch fell behind in the 10th minute yesterday and couldn’t recover, falling to Westminster of Missouri 3-1.
In a game played at the Kuyper Athletic Complex in Pella, the Blue Jays, three-time defending SLIAC champions, led the entire way. After the early tally, there was no additional scoring until the 79th minute, when Westminster made it 2-0.
Ian Meentemeyer punched in his 5th goal of the year for Central 7 minutes later, but the Blue Jays hammered home the dagger just 62 seconds afterwards for the final 3-1 margin.
Central drops to 4-2 on the season and will continue its home stand Saturday against Principia of Illinois.
