The Central College soccer teams swept Monmouth Tuesday night in Illinois, with both teams winning by identical 1-0 scores.
The women, playing their first match in 10 days, got a goal in the 74th minute from Lauren Vahlkamp, and Sydney Lunardi made it stand up with her sixth shutout of the year.
Central’s men were coming off a loss to North Central over the weekend, and rebounded by getting a Miguel Pina goal in the 29th minute to back Josh Carpenter’s shutout effort in goal.
The Dutch women are 7-1-1, while the men are 6-3. Both teams travel to Coe tomorrow night for their Iowa Conference opener.
