Pella Christian is at home tonight for a district football tilt against I-35.
The second-ranked Eagles are 3-0 on the season, 1-0 in district play, while the Roadrunners are 2-1, 0-1 in the district, after losing to Pleasantville last week.
Pella Christian has won its last two games by a combined score of 134-0 over Albia and Des Moines Christian, but Coach Rich Kacmarynski says that doesn’t mean there aren’t areas for improvement.
“One of our big sayings this week has been ‘read your key’. We had some guys not read their key (last week against Des Moines Christian), both offensively and defensively. We had a couple blown coverages (defensively) and a couple of missed assignments offensively. So that’s been a point of emphasis for us. Read your key, and that will probably tell you what you need to do next.”
Tonight’s game will start at 7:00 at Pella Christian High School. Trevor Castle and Larry Hessing will have the live play-by-play on 92.1 KRLS beginning with pregame coverage 6:30.
