As fall weather settles in throughout the area, many may begin to notice the changing of the leaves.

This year, according to the Iowa DNR, peak color season may be on target throughout most of central Iowa, which typically hits in mid-October. While the first frost may come late this year with no cool weather in the forecast, the first hard freeze typically coincides with the color change in many trees.
