It looked like the Knoxville Football Squad might be able to hang with Carlisle as the two teams trades blows for most of the first half. But the Wildcats used their running and option attack to wear on the Panthers and pull away in the second half to win 48-19. The game was tied twice in the first half when Carlisle scored to open things after a scoreless first quarter. Trent Davis took the ensuing kickoff back 85 yards to even the score at seven. After another Wildcats touchdown and missed extra point, Knoxville’s Jacob Zuck scampered 75 yards for a score to tie the game at 13. Carlisle then broke it open with two quick touchdowns to make it 28-13 at the half and then scored 19 unanswered points to take control of the game in the second half. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports his guys were playing well to start off the game. Knoxville got a touchdown on the last play of the game when Michael Ullestad found Rylan Cox for a seven yard score. Zuck led the Panthers on the ground with 69 yards on eight carries while Blake McClung caught three passes for 45 yards. Knoxville is now 1-4 on the season and drop to 0-3 in district play, and will travel to Pella next Friday.
