The on-again off-again football rivalry between Pella and Grinnell is back on.
The Little Dutch and Tigers didn’t play each other during Pella’s two championship seasons in 2014 and 2015, but they’ll square off on the gridiron tonight in Grinnell.
Pella coach Jay McKinstrey is excited to see the black-and-orange.
“To get them back on our schedule is a good thing. It’s quite a rivalry between Pella and Grinnell. The kids see each other in the same conference in every other sport, so it should be a good matchup between two teams that have great tradition.”
The two teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum so far this season, with the second ranked Little Dutch at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the district and the Tigers at 0-4, 0-2.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 tonight in Grinnell. Join Trevor Castle and Randy Sikkema for the play-by-play on our KRLS2 stream at www.kniakrls.com. Pregame coverage starts at 7:00.
