Some Local high school cross country teams will converge on the Gateway Golf Course in Monroe tonight.
PCM, Pella Christian, Pleasantville and Twin Cedars will all be competing. The PCM Mustangs and Pella Christian Eagles are coming off a week of rest since both teams last ran at the Lynnville Invitational on September 15th. For PCM a team that finished 3rd for the girl’s and 9th for the boys in Lynnville will look for another strong finish behind their Senior leader Chris Ellens who won the Invitational a week ago and has now moved from the 21st ranked runner in Class 2A to the 15th ranked runner in Class 2A. The Pella Christian Eagles will also look for another strong finish after the boy’s team finished 4th a week ago behind 4th place finisher Grant Dunsbergen and the girls will look for a top 10 finish that eluded them a week ago. Both Twin Cedars and Pleasantville are coming off meets this past Tuesday and will both look to keep momentum going on Thursday. Pleasantville will look to improve on its 12th place finish for the boys a week ago at Lynnville and it all starts with Josh Pulse who finished 15th in that race. And for the girls, Mel Johnson will look to improve off her 23rd place finish at Lynnville if Pleasantville wants to improve on their 8th place finish a week ago. Twin Cedars who finished 10th as a team for the boys at Lynnville they will look to improve and possibly place higher tonight, but it will be up to improvements from runners like Hunter Swope and Colton Spaur if the Twin Cedars team wants to gain a few positions from where they finished a week ago. The JV/Varsity meet is schedule to kick off at the Gateway Golf Course in Monroe at 4 pm.
