One of the major adjustments to The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad’s new defense was to move Connor Dawson from defensive end to middle linebacker. The reason says Coach Mike Hortsman is to get Dawson flowing to the ball more and not allow the opposing offenses run in the opposite direction of Dawson. He along with Zach Moore combined for 13 tackles, allowing the defensive backs to shut down the English Valley passing game last Friday. Hortsman adds his team started to run the ball well, but when he noticed his receivers were beating English Valley’s defensive backs, he went to a nearly all-passing attack. The Saints travel to Murray tomorrow.
