The PCM Mustangs will travel down to Donnellson Iowa tonight for a showdown with the Hawks of Central Lee.
Both teams come into tonight’s contest with identical 3-1 records. After both teams dropped their opening game of the season, they have since rattled off three consecutive wins and head into tonight game tied atop the district at 2-0. The winner of tonight’s match up will find themselves in the driver’s seat of the district after the midway point of the 2016 season. The Central Lee Hawks come in with a potent running attack on offense that features close to five different rushers a game. A rushing scheme that ran for 335 yards a week ago against Albia. If the PCM Mustangs want to have success it all starts with slowing down that potent rushing scheme of the Hawks. The one aspect that the Mustangs feel most confident in tonight’s match up is their offense. With big games this season on the ground by Wes Cummings and through the air from Sheldon Speers to Luke Greiner the Mustang offense seems to be able to pick the attack most proficient in getting the job done, and with an offense like that it gives Coach Bonnet’s squad a ton of confidence. The Mustangs and Hawks will hit the gridiron with pregame at 7 PM and kickoff scheduled for 7:30 from Donnellson Iowa.
